Position Summary

Establishment of a Pool for Affiliate/Part-time Instructors for the Honors Program. Qualified applicants will be placed in the program pool and will be considered for part-time program needs beginning Spring 2016 through Spring 2019.

Duties/Responsibilities

Teaching one or more of the following courses: Legacy of Arts & Letters 1; Legacy of Arts & Letters 2; Art of Critical Thinking; Honors Thesis Seminar, other courses as needed.

Affiliate faculty members are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, usually on a semester-by-semester basis depending on budget and enrollment. Affiliate faculty members are not eligible for participation in the University’s benefit programs. Affiliates are not eligible for salary increases based on performance or promotion, or for other benefits of full-time employment with the University.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a Humanities field such as English, Philosophy, Classics, History, or related field appropriate to assigned courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in a Humanities field such as English, Philosophy, Classics, History, or related field appropriate to assigned courses and experience with Honors.

At least one year of teaching experience.
