Nursing Tenure-Track Faculty (Category I) position – Department of Nursing. This announcement is to fill two full-time tenure-track positions beginning in the 2017 fall semester.
Teach upper division courses in the nursing program. Teach 24 credits per academic year including evenings, on-line courses and weekends using multimedia and other technologies. Able to teach in at least three of the following areas: foundations, health assessment, pharmacology, medical/surgical, mental health, maternal child, and pediatrics. Plan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical or laboratory experiences that reflect an understanding of the mission, objectives and program’s curriculum. Design, implement and evaluate curriculum. Participate in academic advising and guidance of students and be sensitive to the educational needs of students from a diverse population. Conduct student assessments and evaluate student achievement. Orient, mentor, and monitor clinical faculty and preceptors. Participate in program, curriculum, and department policy development and evaluation. Develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, mission and objectives of the nursing education program. Develop, evaluate, and revise student policies including admission, progression, retention and graduation. Serve on department, school and university committees. Participate in the tenure track process by active engagement in scholarly activities that support professional development and by providing service to the university and external community. The successful candidate must be willing to adhere to policies and procedures regarding students and faculty as established by the University and Department.

Master’s Degree in nursing from a Nursing Education Program with national nursing accreditation. An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado. Two years full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience.
Doctorate in nursing or related field.
