Position Summary

Establishment of Department Pool for Affiliate Instructors of Anthropology. Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be considered for affiliate departmental needs beginning Spring 2016. The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Duties/Responsibilities

Teach introductory courses in Anthropology as well as other areas needed by the department and according to applicant’s field of study. Morning, afternoon, evening, or online classes may be assigned if available.

Affiliate faculty members are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, usually on a semester-by-semester basis depending on budget and enrollment. Affiliate faculty members are not eligible for participation in the University’s benefit programs. Affiliates are not eligible for salary increases based on performance or promotion, or for other benefits of full-time employment with the University.

Required Qualifications

Master’s in Anthropology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field and teaching experience is desirable.
